Toyohashi University of Technology - Universiti Sains Malaysia Technology Collaboration Centre in Penang (TUT-USM Penang) is placed at Penang Island in Malaysia. Penang is an island off the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. These are reflected in its harmonious multiracial populace and well-preserved heritage buildings which led to George Town being accorded a listing as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site recently.

Climate
      Penang experiences an equatorial type of climate with a warm and humid weather throughout the year. Days are warm and sunny with temperature of around 30 degrees C and nights are quite cool with temperature of around 22 degrees C. Penang is quite dry in the months of January and February. Rainfall is heavy and is experienced especially from August to November.
